A network of associations 78 kilometres long, from Campiglio to Torbole sul Garda
The numbers of the 2021 edition
“La Sarca Tutta Nuda” 2021 saw the participation of many Associations and Entities along the course of the Sarca river, from the source to its mouth. In fact, there are 14 municipalities that have joined the “Rotte Inverse” project, and more than 20 Associations that operate in a territory that goes from Madonna di Campiglio to Nago-Torbole.
How it works
The management of the activity, for single launch trajectory, is entrusted to the local associations members. “Rotte Inverse” guides participants along the route Torbole – Arco in small groups of maximum ten people. A coordinator for each group ensures that safety directives are followed (masks, use of gloves, rules for the protection of flora and fauna).
The waste is then transported – by the organizers – to “Cantiere 26”, a socio-cultural center in Arco, where it is selected, source-separated and weighed, using the containers provided by the Community of Valle Alto Garda and Ledro.

In the coming months, “Rotte Inverse” will also offer thematic evening meetings about the plastics and microplastics issue.
The Monster of Sarca
It is also planned to realize a collective art installation in collaboration with “Smarmellata” and “PGZ” Associations, using metal and the most bulky waste collected during the event of 16th May. An art installation that will come to life in a laboratory, led by local artists, at “Cantiere 26” (the socio-cultural center in Arco), entitled the “Monster of Sarca“, as a constant reminder of the impact that waste has on the environment, and an incentive to choose more respectful behaviors.
